ABOUT US

Wholehearted Commitment

Our Mission:
We provide meaningful and affordable access to healthcare to international Christian expatriates and to be vessels of hope during times of conflict or natural disaster crisis.

Our Vision:
We look to enhance the health of the international network of Christian expatriates so they may continue their purpose by improving the well-being of their adopted lands.

Our Why:

When our daughter, her husband, and our four grandchildren left for their new home in the Balkans to establish businesses founded on Christian principles, we all quickly learned how challenging it was to navigate a healthcare system in a foreign country.  The founder of Grace Abroad is Dr. Michael Zgoda.  He is board-certified in the four medical specialties of Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Sleep Medicine, and his wife, Tami, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Biblical Counselor.  They recognized how helpful it would be for missionaries to have access to experienced physicians and biblical counselors in the United States, no matter where one serves.  Grace Abroad was launched as a means for expatriates to have access to the healthcare with which they are most familiar and to come alongside them during the trials of illness.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

  1. We affirm that the Bible is the inspired, unique, authoritative Word of God, conveying God's love to humanity. (1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; John 3:16)

  2. We hold that there is one God, eternally existing in a triune nature: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; John 10:30; Ephesians 4:4-6)

  3. We profess faith in the divine nature of Jesus Christ, including His virgin birth, sinless existence, miraculous acts, redemptive death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the Father's side, and future return in power and glory. (Matthew 1:23; John 1:1-4 and 1:29; Acts 1:11 and 2:22-24; Romans 8:34; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:1-4 and 4:15)

  4. We acknowledge that all humans are lost and face God's judgment, with Jesus Christ being the sole path to salvation. Salvation requires repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, leading to regeneration through the Holy Spirit. Additionally, we believe that God rewards the righteous with eternal life and condemns the unrighteous to eternal punishment. (Luke 24:46-47; John 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 3:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10-11; Ephesians 1:7 and 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7)

  5. We recognize the ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose presence empowers Christians to live a godly life. (John 3:5-8; Acts 1:8 and 4:31; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 2:14; Galatians 5:16-18; Ephesians 6:12; Colossians 2:6-10)

  6. We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; the saved to eternal life and the lost to eternal punishment. (1 Corinthians 15:51-57; Revelation 20:11-15)

  7. We uphold the spiritual unity of believers in Jesus Christ, with all true believers forming His body, the Church. (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Ephesians 1:22-23)

  8. We maintain that evangelism (spreading the message of salvation through Jesus Christ) and discipleship (guiding Christ's followers toward spiritual maturity) are the responsibilities of all Jesus' followers. (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15; 1 Peter 3:15)

  9. We affirm that human sexuality is intended for expression within marriage, with God creating men and women as distinct biological beings designed to complement each other. We believe that marriage is solely between one genetic male and one genetic female, forming the basis of family and society. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:5-6; Mark 10:6-9; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9)

  10. We commit ourselves to prayer, service to the Lord, submission to His authority, and participation in evangelism. (Matthew 9:35-38; 22:37-39, and 28:18-20; Acts 1:8; Romans 10:9-15 and 12: 20-21; Galatians 6:10; Colossians 2:6-10; 1 Peter 3:15)

  11. We believe that human life is sacred from conception until its natural end, and we must care for the physical and spiritual needs of others. (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10)
